Närppä Wilderness Cabin (48 m²) accommodates up to 5 people, including the sleeping loft. The cabin includes a living area, one bedroom/changing room, a loft, and a traditional sauna. To preserve the true wilderness atmosphere, the cabin has been intentionally left without electricity.

Cooking is done with a gas stove that includes an oven, and heating is provided by gas or a heat-retaining fireplace. Drinking and washing water is collected from the river, and the sauna has a traditional wood-fired water heater. The cabin is equipped with basic utensils and cookware. There is an outdoor dry toilet behind the cabin and a campfire site by the riverside.

The centerpiece of the cabin is a striking natural stone fireplace, combined with candlelight it creates a truly unique and unforgettable atmosphere. The cabin features nearly 100 candleholders, and we’ll provide plenty of candles for your arrival night. Additional candles can easily be purchased from the well-stocked local grocery store. If needed, we can also lend you battery-powered lanterns and coolers with ice packs for storing food.

The rustic charm is enhanced by the cabin’s 100-year-old log walls. Despite its historic structure, the interior is clean, newly finished, and decorated in a true wilderness style with displays of Lapland wildlife.

Location:
The cabin is located 600 meters from Ounasloma along Ruijantie, then 300 meters down to the riverbank. In summer, you can drive all the way to the cabin. In winter, the final 400 meters must be walked, as cars must be left further away. The nearest inhabited building is 200 meters from the cabin.

For your arrival, we will preheat the cabin and carry in fresh water. In winter, we’ll transport your luggage to and from the cabin by snowmobile. Fishing permits are available directly from us.
